First12 is part of www.Clearport.org, a 501(c)3 non-profit.
Our mission is to help the learning team (parents, teachers, students) deliver an education optimized for each individual student.
First12 is a combination of:
(1) Vertical Search for K-12 courseware (factoring in learning style)
(2) Social Network for the learning team: parent, teacher, and student.
(3) Progress Tracking
We're planning to develop each component individually and widgetize all of the functionality so it can be syndicated to sites that contain freely available courseware, and other entities supporting our mission (such as school websites).

We're currently in the process of early product development and securing resources including funding (donations, grants, and launch partners) and developers. We'll be opening up a collaborative site in the near future to enable volunteers to contribute to our open source design and code base.
